Pink is known for being one of pop music’s more edgy names. You can always count on her to deliver a high energy, in-your-face pop rock anthem. With a title like Blow Me…you know that we can count on Pink to deliver yet another solid song in her signature style. However, that may just be the problem with this latest entry in Pink’s discography. This is typical Pink…but is it too typical? If you’ve ever heard a Pink song, you know exactly what to expect.
Everything about this song has been done before…and for the most part, better. The song is definitely catchy, with its punchy drums, funky guitar, and electronic dance beat. The chorus is full on attitude, with a definite “F*ck You!” message, amplified by Pink’s powerful, voice and signature rasp. It’s shout along hook will definitely have audiences singing along, because…hey, haven’t we all had a s#*t day?
Its definitely a good song….but its good for all the same reasons that Raise Your Glass, and So What were. Blow Me (One Last Kiss) sounds remarkably similar to Pinks last few singles….in fact, it may be a little too similar to her past hits. While Pink is sticking to what works for her, I can’t help but feel like she, of all people, is capable of changing it up a bit. But hey! If it ain’t broke, why fix it?
Final Score: 3/5
